The Logistics
At Huler, we support our teams to work how, when and where they’re most productive. We will never undervalue being together in person to aid communication and collaboration across all areas of the business. The Technical Teams get together at least once a quarter for Tech Day’s at our HQ, we usually coincide these days with our quarterly all company get togethers – the rest of the time remote, with no invite needed to work from HQ at any other point.

Job Overview
Working as a Front-End Developer you will join a collaborative team, working primarily on HulerHub our SaaS product. HulerHub is a brand-new and much-needed product that’s revolutionising employee experience for businesses globally. Our employee experience platform delivers a truly consumer grade UX that can be branded to suit organisation's requirements while their people can personalise what matters to them - driving engagement and productivity. Although you will primarily be working on our SaaS software, you may have the opportunity to work on some bespoke projects.

The Interview Process
First, you’ll meet Dewi one of our Tech Leads, and a member of the People Team. In this interview, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Huler and ask any questions you may have about the role, we'll ask what interests you about joining Huler, and what you can add to our team. The next stage is a short technical task which will give you an insight into what you'll be doing in the role. The final stage of the interview process will be an interview with Dewi and a member of the back end team, where we will discuss your approach to the technical task, and your experience and skills in more detail.

Salary
Up to £55,000 (DOE)
Developing and maintaining backend systems and front-end applications
Work with the frontend team to integrate with our api endpoints
Taking ownership for assigned development tasks from build to delivery
Responsibility for managing and merging code in environment
Writing technical documentation
Updating and maintaining developer standards around internal coding standards and best practice
Trouble shooting and bug fixing
Working with SRE to improve performance, deployments, security, scalability and fix live site issues
Sharing technical and system knowledge with other members of the team
Mentoring and guiding peers via code reviews, dev sessions and paired programming
Staying up to date with industry trends and striving to innovate beyond these by engaging with the wider development community
A degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience
4+ years of experience in software design and web development
An excellent knowledge of cloud computing (preferably AWS)
Practical experience with Go, relational (MySQL or equivalent) and/or NoSQL (DynamoDB or equivalent) databases
Experience with a serverless environment, React, php or React Native will be advantageous
